Kinetic Type Teaser

While working at HBO I was tasked with designing a kinetic typography trailer for the documentary Warning: This Drug May Kill You.  Through a combination of motion and sound design, that included finding a fitting score, I created this piece to reflect the dark side of opioid abuse, discussed in the documentary.

Boxing Mix Music Video

In March of this year, HBO was preparing for a boxing match between Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs.  I created a music video to assist in the promotion of the fight, composing the music solely of sounds from videos of Golovkin training.  This was my first time ever trying to create music.  I worked on and off for about 2.5  weeks, looking up examples of sound sampling and music mixing, trying to make as distinct a video I could before, I ended up with the final product.

Ballers  Season 3 Teaser

For this project my teammates and I were asked by Dwayne Johnson to design some animated teasers that would help generate buss for the upcoming season 3 of his show Ballers.  My concept was to create a flashy, kind of animation style that would speak to the nature of the show we were promoting, while at the same time maintain a degree of balance between, effective and decadent.

Big Little Lies Kinetic Type

Big Little Lies was one of HBO’s newest productions, and several assets needed to be created for the show’s promotion.  One was to create animated text for one of the trailer cuts, slated for the show’s Instagram page.  The key in designing the animation for the text was to keep in mind the themes and style of the show. It was important to mirror the elegant, yet subtly dark tone of the trailer, so that audiences could get an enhanced look at the style of the show.

Animated Brand Bumpers

During my Time Based Design class last year, I was assigned to create two sets of animated bumpers for two different brands.  The project was to create bumpers that could be seen as real assets for each brand. I chose Cartoon Network because it’s a channel I’ve been familiar with since childhood and wanted to create something using the iconic CMYK color pallet they have adopted.  I also chose Coca Cola, because of how recognizable it is, anything in my design that was out of character for the brand would immediately be picked up on, so there was an inherent challenge to camouflage what I had created as something that could be seen as part of the Coca Cola brand.
