Nippert Donor Wall

During my 2nd co-op semester at UC’s PDC office, I designed an outdoor instillation.  It was meant to commemorate the renovations to the stadium and the benefactors who made it possible.  The design was based on a stone relief of a football player in full sprint, that has been a part of the stadium grounds since its’ inception.  The original idea was to make a design that look engraved in the stone however, after a few drafts it became clear this idea wouldn’t work.  It simply didn’t have enough substance to match the scale of the wall.  During a trip to the Cincinnati museum I noticed these murals that were painted by separating images into sections of color rather than blending, which became the basis for the graphic’s design.  Once it had been completed and scaled to the dimensions of the wall my boss and I decided on the hardware for the display signs.  The horizontal layout emphasized the movement of the palyer.
